Cleveland Fire Brigade Dennis Heavy rescue unit
This is a 1995 Dennis DFS241241RSB, with John Dennis bodywork and an Atlas AS80.1 crane.
This machine was DAJ700T's replacement, and is currently still on the run at Stockton. It recieved a refurbishment around June 07, which features a traditional dark red livery, and hand painted fleetnumbers and allocation legend.
In November 08, it had it's little used crane removed, and the machine is likeley to have an extra locker built into the space soon.
This picture shows it at Stockton's open day back in July 95, in much original condition and vermillion livery.

Cleveland operate three ET's, this one at Stockton (Norton), H49KVN (which doubles as a CU at Hartlepool (Stranton), and M919SVN at Coulby Newham (Middlesbrough) Stockton's and Hartlepool look after the A66 and the Northern half of the A19, whilst Coulby Newham's looks after the A66, and the Southern half of the A19, thus all of Teesside's primary routes are protected.
M225PHN seen in the above picture was designated 'Heavy Rescue' and it's crane was intended for retrieving Crashed Vehicles. To my knowledge however, the crane has never been used in anger, so perhaps in these days of 'cost effectivness' this was the reason why it has been removed. I hope the brigade gets round to filling in the space soon, because the large gap created by the crane's removal dosn't do it any favours! It looks like a second hand acqusition now!
