Cleveland Fire brigade Dennis Heavy rescue

This is a 1995 Dennis DFS241241RSB, with John Dennis bodywork and an Atlas AS80.1 crane.
This machine was DAJ700T's replacement, and is currently still on the run at Stockton. It relieved a refurbishment around June 07, which features a traditional dark red livery, and hand painted fleetnumbers and allocation legend.
In November 08, it had it's little used crane removed, and the machine is likeley to have an extra locker built into the space soon.
This picture shows it in it's revised livery with Teutonic style white embelishments at the Preston Park Rally in 2005.

Dennis heaven! Thanks Chris! A lesson to brigades here, look after a proper make and it will pay for itself over and over!

Another classic, a Dennis from front to back and still going strong.
These were built in a time when you got what you paid for and were
certainly built to last, this one certainly as.Thankyou Chris.

I take it gentlemen, that you like Dennis products then?
The little used Atlas Crane has now been removed, and it is likely that a locker will be built into the space. The machine has been refurbished recently (2007), and now appears in a very tasteful dark red livery with hand painted fleet numbers and allocation legend.

Chris, myself a Dennis or Bedford TK with HCB Angus coachwork, well theres no other machine! Lorries pretending to be fire engines get short shrift from a lot of folk on here, mind you, the youngsters like them because they are covered in stripes with loads of flashers!

Although we all have our favourites, we shouldn't deride the younger element who like the modern stuff. Afterall, it's they who will keep this hobby going when we can't. However, I struggle to accept those horrid Mercedes Atego things, they look like plastic toys lol!
I also wish that Cleveland would hurry up and build something into the space formerly occupied by the Atlas crane. It looks really cheap with the huge gap between the cab and bodywork.

Saw this yesterday, still running about with a gap where the crane was...

This machine now sports an extra locker in the space where it's crane was. The overall effect is much cleaner and gives the vehicle a similar outline to Coulby Newhams ET M919SVN. I saw this last week going off to the workshops, and today (27.05.09) I saw it for the first time in it's new format. It looks so much better with the gap filled in! It will probably put an appearence at this years Preston Park Rally.
