1967 Bedford TK/Hampshire FS WrT.

Built by Hampshire Fire Service at their workshops in Winchester in 1967,this appliances was
orinally stationed at Station C33 Romsey of the Hampshire Fire Service until 1979 before it
was transferred to the reserved fleet based at Winchester.
Built on a 1967 Bedford TK chassis with bodywork by the Hampshire FS,this appliance was to
remain in service with the Hampshire Fire Service until 1986,it was then passed onto Lansing
Bagnall of Basingstoke(fork lift manufacturers)as their works fire appliance.
In April 1994,the appliance(reg-HOR 209E)was purchased by retained members of Romsey
Fire Station-its origanal home station,and finally put into presevation.

This is owned by John Hurle of Romsey who is a fire fighter still there today and use to drive this appliance in service.John also owns the Bedford Tkg Flying Brick from Romsey fire station as well .

Nice to hear of a happy ever after for one of these beauties.
I saw the exact same model, infact from the Hampshire Fire Brigade, today, the only difference was the number plate. Fantastic!

I remember riding on one of these when Retained at Stn A3 Farnborough, in fact we had 2, one was a WTR and the other a WTL, call signs 03 and 103 - Farnborough station closed when Rushmoor was opened. Oh happy days and only 18 !!!! As a separate question, can anybody tell me what happened to the Rescue Tenders built on L/Rover Forward control chassis - 1 was stationed at A3 and I have a photo of me, my Father and step brother stood beside it.

Hampshire Fire brigade did a nice job with these - a rival to Hampshire Car Bodies in those days!
