Former Somerset Dennis F28 703LYA
This photo was taken in July 2008 of my Dennis F28 Water Tender registration 703LYA. It entered service with Somerset Fire Brigade in mid 1961 replacing a 1950 Commer Whitson index MYB902 which is already pictured on your site. It was stationed all its life at the one pump retained station at Paulton. Out of service in 1979 when it was used to raise money for the Fire Service Benevolent fund and other charities. Powered by a B61 Rolls Royce petrol engine.

Paul, I love the way you have stowed the delivery hose in the locker, excellent!

Pavel, this was the standard way of stowing the lengths of delivery certainly on Somerset appliances from the late fifties until the mid nineties. Its quite simple really, two metal bars with one at the front being higher to stop the lengths from falling out.

I have driven this W/T 1970-1975 while serving at A11/B3 Paulton.
