Apart from Tokyo's fleet of IVECO-Magirus ladders, Unimogs are just about the only imported fire service vehicles in Japan.

Nothing else comes close when it comes to their off-road capabilities, and they are prized for their ability to get to post-earthquake incidents after roads have been damaged or destroyed.
