Can anyone explian to me please why Bohemia Road is now defunct of appliances to what it was and the Ridge have two pumps? When I first went there in 1990 they had G reg MAN TL, two Volvo pumps and the GMC RT.

I saw a Volvo FL6H machine with a very similar index passing through Bristol this morning. It certainly started GX51 had a very similar livery but with Pinewood Studios on the door.

The appliance which Paul Pickford saw is probably GX 51 UBK which was based at Eastbourne, but was taken out of service in 2004 after being damaged in accident.

GX51 UBL is now the water tender based at station 20 Rye. Andrew your comments about Bohemia road are quite misleading. When Bohemia opened in 1971 the station ran a Bedford pump escape, Bedford pump emergency salvage tender, AEC turntable ladder a landrover 89 run about and an ex AFS Bedford 2x4 painted red and used every now and then. When the Borough brigade past to the new East Sussex the AFS Bedford and Landrover were taken away and the 3 appliance line up stayed through the 70's, 80's up until the early 90's.During this time Bedfords, Jeeps M.A.N'S, G.M.C'S and Volvo came and went. With a new chief in 94 the G.M.C went and the Rescue pump concept was adopted reducing the station to just the Turntable ladder and Rescue pump.I can only think that the station was storing the extra pumps ect as there is the space 5 bays with only 2 operational vehicles.
Hope this helps.
