Duisburg - VLF 28/20 ( out of order)

Duisburg city once run three of these vehicules.
They were built on AWD military chassis as first- attac- units.
Now, after more than 20 years of work, the last was replaced by a new vehicule.

Twenty years old?! It looks almost brand new except for the wheel hubs.
I wonder if the Military Chassis is a Faun? I seem to recognise this type of Cab style with vehicles of the West German Army.

You're right, it's a German military chassis.
But it is a MAN 14tons chassis, AWD, 360hp.
It needs 21sec. to reach 80 km.
The bodywork once was made by Rosenbauer.
The vehicle carried 2000l/water and 220l/foam.
It also carried materials for technical help.

Seems a bit overdone for a highly urbanized city like Duisburg...
