Saarlouis Fire Brigade in action

A closer look at one of Saarlouis's appliances. Does anyone know the designation of this machine?

Probably a TLF or LF 16/12

Added by Jake Rever on 15 December 2008.
It`s a HLF 20/20, HilfeleistungsLoeschFahrzeug (Rescue-Pump-Ladder), built from BAI Italy, on a Mercedes Atego 1528. Pump: 2000ltr/min/10bar, Tank: 2000ltr (20/20), 250ltr foamcell. Stationed at the inner city firestation. See more : www.feuerwehr.saarlouis.de/hlfinnenstadt.0.html

Michael, thank you for your detailed reply. I assume it has a rear mounted pump? Do they have to remove the hose cart before operating the pump?

Added by Barry on 16 December 2008.
Barry, yes, it has a rear mounted pump and two carts on the backside. The second cart is a box, which contents road-safety-equipment. On the photo(it`s removed), you can see a few of it behind the police-car. For pump operating is it not necessary to remove the carts, because you can pivot them to the left and the right side and you`ll get a free way to the pump. Regards, Michael.

Doc Barry - have a look at Theo's picture 1007, rear view of Duisburg's WaterTender.

It shows both the Hose Reel Cart; and the Road Safety Equipment Cart; in place. Also has an impressive Traffic Control Lights array........

Thanks for a great On-Scene photo (in spite of being caught in the backed-up road-traffic, no doubt), and Michael's info.

Regards, from Canada,
