Renault prime mover 'Power&light'-pod Warsaw,PLRenault prime mover+'Power&light'-pod – Warsaw,PL
The Warsaw Fire Service made another breakthrough purchase in 2007 – it was the first municipal brigade of the State Fire Service to buy a 'power + light' pod. The pod carriers a modular system of lighting & power generating equipment, consisting of 4 identical trolleys, each loaded with a portable floodlight mast (4 x 500 W) and a 8-kVA power generator. There are also two hydraulic, stationary, remote-controlled lightning masts (4 x 1000W) mounted in the container, powered by a 33-kVA emergency power generator. This powerful appliance can also be used on its own, e.g. to supply important buildings (hospitals, command centres, etc.) with electricity in disaster zones or during prolonged blackouts. The pod is also fitted with two blue beacons and a set of working lights, illuminating its inside as well as surroundings.
The Fire and Rescue Unit 2 in Włochy, where this pod is kept, also has 3 trailer-mounted ~4kW power generators. It is the host station for most of Warsaw's pods, specialist trailers as well as preserved historical appliances.
The 'container carrier'/prime mover seen here is a 6x6 Renault Kerax 410.26, fitted with an A.T.I.B. demounting device. The vehicle was supplied by the Polish company ISS Wawrzaszek.

The power and light unit is fairly common in Germany, sometimes combined with electrically powered ventilation equipment to get smoke and/or dangerous fumes out of structures.
