Ford Transit - medical equipment van - Warsaw, PLSLRmed - Ford Transit - JRG-8 Warszawa
Among the appliances delivered in late 2007/early 2008 to the Warsaw Fire Service was this Ford Transit van (call sign WF 308-72), which replaced the aging VW T4 as the primary vehicle of the Medical Rescue Group 'Warszawa-8' (JRG-8, or Fire and Rescue Unit 8, is its host station). The equipment carried on the Transit includes a portable power generator, inflatable tents (+ fans, heaters), a large amount of standard State Fire Service medical bags (R-1, R-2) as well as spine boards, splints, as well as other equipment the M.R. Group uses for field treatment of casualties.

JRG-8 provides cover for the Praga-Południe district. It was established in 1961 and for some time, Warsaw Fire Brigade HQ offices were located in the station building. Today, the Voivodoship (Regional/Provincial) HQ of the State Fire Service uses the spacious JRG-8 building as the base for its training unit, the SDF KSRG (the National Fire and Rescue System Development Section). Station 8 is also home to the Specialist Medical Rescue Group ‘Warszawa-8’. The group’s main role is organizing treatment for large numbers of casualties at major incidents, but it also carries out rehab & care duties. The station also holds a stock of first aid equipment, backboards, etc.
