This old Bedford TKG HCB-Angus appliance was parked outside the station. It's no longer in service. Building year is 1985

What a pity its off the run, given tlc this machine would outlive its replacements! I suppose its been replaced with more dubious lorry based toys from the likes of Mann or Volvo? Nice photo Marcel, thanks.

My memory may be fading with advancing age, but when I was selling Ford D series lorries in the 1960s and 1970s my colleagues and I always thought that most Bedford TKs were lorries too...

Even Dennis built lorries - including a lot of bin wagons, and in reality the only true custom fire engine builders in the UK were firms like Thorneycroft - who built airfield crash tenders.

AS for toy lorries, I remember both Dinky and Corgi, and they both occasionally took a shot at fie engines, too!
