TFD operate more than 80 aerials of various types, but most of their fleet are either 40 meter towers like this or 30 m towers on a two axle chassis. One is stationed at each of their full time stations, along with two or three pumpers and ambulances and various specials. The 200+ volunteer stations do not have aerials.
All have a full crew cab, and - although years ago they were all equipped with pumps - they now have a monitor system which requires a separate pumper.
In central areas of the city, it is not uncommon for three or four aerials to respond on a first alarm with six to eight pumpers and at least one rescue squad and several command vehicles in addition to two ambulances and several TPD officers for traffic and crowd control.
