1926 Hale Fire Pumper

In 1926, the Odessa Volunteer Fire Company of Delaware accepted delivery of this Hale 500gpm pumper -- and it's been on the department roster ever since. The apparatus was manufactured by the Hale Fire Engine Company of Conshohoken, PA.

82 years old, and still going strong - a credit to its Makers, and its Fire Department that looked after her.

Love the "Handraulic/Armstrong Patent" Booster Reel.

Great shot of a classic beauty.

Hey LOVE your truck. I own a 1926 Hale also, Not a nice as yours but runs in several parades a year. Last restored buy a fire chief/mechanic in mid 80's so not as quality as yours. Mine originally came from Mifflinburg hose company (PA), then was at Castenia Fire Department (PA). Then a couple private owners. Great that you have had yours since new.

We had one just like it!
It had duel ignition and a covered battery box on the running board. A large water tank was in the back.
My dad drove pilings for buildings with it. It had it's own firehouse built for two trucks, and it sat out in front on the highway during Firemen's conventions at our Motel.
No bell, but it had a crank and Searchlight. Indian tanks on board, and the same spoked wheels. It got wrecked in a winter March 1962 storm, but was fixed up for a childrens playland. I have many photos of it. It was painted exactly the same as this one. Jim
