Early Dennis Fire Pump
This is a picture of an early Dennis fire pump (1923). Lots of parts were missing but it is now slowly going back together again. The interesting feature are the gate valves on the delivery side rather than the convention 'clack' valves which are on modern fire pumps.
I do have a problem in that the gates are missing and there is no trace of the seals. Does anyone know what the inside of these gate valves looked like? I have attached another picture showing the inside of the valve and the annular recess where I assume some type of sealing ring sat.
