The Fire Brigade of Frankfurt is buying new Watetenders. The have bought 19 appliances. The chassis is from Mercedes Benz Atego. The bodywork is from the firm Lentner.
Not only is this a watertender but the truck also carriers rescue equipment on board.

Nice photo and very nice appliance, it would seem this station at Frankfurt has a large number of vehicles housed there.

Frankfurt probably has the most evolved two-tone paint scheme amongst German fire services. They started adding white paint and striping long before other German cities, and the current paint treatment is certainly quite distinctive.

Many German cities have some very large fire stations. They often house ambulances, command and administrative vehicles, special-purpose units, pods, transporters, trailers and both volunteer company and reserve units, as well as first response fire and rescue appliances.

The largest one I have visited is Tech I in Berlin. This has 54 special-purpose units in addition to front line fire appliances and ambulances. This station and Tech II together house most of Berlin's special purpose equipment.

My record for the largest fire station was the central fire station in Kuwait City. This had 82 bays. Most of them accommodated a huge fleet of tractor-trailer tanker trucks. Because Kuwait has many built up areas without water mains or hydrants, major shuttles of many very large water tank trucks was the only realistic option in the event of large fires - and of course there was no chance of any kind of mutual aid!

The red is not paint! It's reflective tape!

These units are rescue pumps with 2000 LPM pumps and 1600 liter water tanks. Originally assigned to the full time paid crews' fire stations, they have now been replaced and are operated by the city's volunteer fire companies. The replacements are on MAN 15-290 chassis, acquired in 2013. These all follow a similar general specification - with various upgrades including air suspension, dual foam capabilities, powered roof racks for ground ladders and additional backseat BA positions. They accommodate a squad leader, a driver and five additional firefighters.

My point about the two tone striping was that this was pioneered among German fire services by Frankfurt am Main. In those days, the trucks were painted red and the stripes were indeed white paint!
