Thats Ex Lincoln North, i was aware that the 51 reg and 03 reg appliances might be going to Ireland, Highlands may have got this to replace some of their older machines, 2nd hand is much cheaper.
Stephen is right, these appliances have come to ireland and are currently in south tipperary in thurles.there are three more still ready to go in to service.the most recent one has gone to nenagh also in south tipperary.
The Lincolnshire appliances were owned by Translinc who leased them to the brigade, Assetco who lease to London now lease to Lincolnshire as well, so Translinc took all of the appliances back and will have disposed of them to the best bidder - hence the reason Lincs have an almost completely new fleet of MAN's with some ex London Volvos as reserves or on the run as 2nd pumps.
Its not past its service. Translincs contract as a leasing company for Lincolnshire ended 2 years ago. Assetco the new leasing company has to supply appliances to the brigade. The previous vehicles including the one pictured above were owned by Translinc and therefore when their contract ended and a crossover time (A deadline for Assetco to replace the fleet) had passed Translinc was able to do as it pleased with teh vehicles. The newer ones, 03, 51, W, were destined to be sold to other brigades, the 03 plates, 51 plates and 4 of the 5 W plates are now in Ireland, the one above is the only outsider as not going to Ireland. Lincolnshire now has via Asset co 33 new Mans and 23 refurbished ex London volvos in service to make up the pumping fleet. The specials (3 HP's and 2 RSV's) were owned by lincolnshire before the Translinc contract so are retained by the brigade and will be replaced in due course by Assetco. Hope that helps
That could be quite a Good Deal, for the new owners - quality, used Fire Apparatus - with all the "Bugs" of new equipment ironed out - a known service and maintenance history [if that does comes with the truck; or, just telephone the previous operators].
Must be hard for the Fire-Crews on the Apparatus Floor - originally, looking after their "Leasor", that may not be there at end of contract. I am sure that the whole thing has been hashed out many times; for for we Readers, have many Fire Brigades gone in for leasing, and how is it panning out?
As far as I know the Skegness HP (Volvo FL6.14 with bedwas bodywork) is at Lincoln South, I am unsure whether both Hp's at Boston and Skegness have an ex LFB one or not as their was talk of reducing the aerial fleet down to 2. I am aware that the 2 Renault dodge low line HP's (I have posted Bostons which is in my album) are up for sale. The New RSU's are on a Man chasis, I saw Lincoln Norths Today at the station, but the w/t crew was out and the RSU was in the middle of the 2 bays at the back (Thats for another thread as theirs 3 vehicles sharing 2 bays!) I could only get the reg details, being BV57GTZ (for those interested) I will be sometime int eh next fortnight arranging to visit the station to take some photos so If i can do that I will post a photo of it up here.
Stevie, Lincolshire have a policy of hiring machines rather than buying them, they changed the contract from TransLinc to AssetCo, so as to not spend money on loads of new appliances, there was many ex. London appliances going spare due to London's policy, increased recently by the introduction of the LEZ which meant that the older appliances couldn't be operated in the capital without conversion. The ex. London appliances were only about 10 years old and were refurblished and placed into service with lincs, but also at the same time AssetCo purchased new pumps for Lincs(about 30 I think) so all the Translinc pumps were able to be handed back to Translinc and Translinc would have no use for them, they were sold on, some ended up with Irish brigade, private brigades and like the above appliance with Highland and Island.

The Sabre that was at Lincoln South has flagged up as been exported, does anyone know where?
