Built 1993, NIFRS bought 3 or 4 new Volvo FM9/Vema aerials to replace this along with SDZ5029, LDZ7742, GDZ5375. FDZ4565 and DKZ7455. Believe two of the older appliances are now reserves still though. Central were planning to replace K456EMS with a CARP, but these plans are now shelved as it was too heavy to operate as both and the appliances (two) that central bought are now being converted to either a pump or aerial appliance only. The above appliance and Cental's are both of 1993 age whereas the hampshire and east sussex ones are of 1997 origin so are newer and are less in need of replacement. Unfortunately the east sussex appliance(R778FWV) was written off in a bad explosion so it was needed to be replaced and east sussex now has 3 Volvo FM appliances(V166DWV, GX04BMY and GX08JPF. Hampshire recently bought a new ALP(HX58DDL) to replace an older TL(L81RTP) and now has 3 ALP's with HX58DDL and two FL10's R358TRV and R359TRV.

Nifrs have 2 vema's on the run. One at knock and the other at northland. Sdz5029 and fdz4565 have been disposed of. Dkz7455 and ldz7742 are still reserve appliances. Ndz7068 is on the run at springfield and gdz5375 at portadown.

David, did NDZ 7068 come from reserve fleet to replace SDZ 5029 at Springfield?

Jake, is there plans then for a third Aerial in Belfast if the Carp appliance is ever seen there?
