A 2003 Scania 94G 260 with a Rosenbauer-Angloco bodywork. The guys from Abercrave were here seen in Brecon. The fire fighters in the Brecon area were very busy with the heavy rainfall.

Although Im not a fan of Scanias, but this one with the Rosenbauer bodywork looks really smart. Great picture as well Marcel, as ever.

does this carry a 135?

I think this is one of the best looking Scania appliances that I have seen.
It looks like it was made specifically for typical rural area's like in Wales,
with the front crew cab being the same size as the rear compartment section.
Plenty big enough for rural country districts.Really nice photo Marcel.

This is one of the most radically designed type 'B' water tenders to ever enter service in the UK. The appliance cost £170, 000 to build.

It is on the stronger G-type Scania chasis with the CP31 ten man crew cab and Aluminium Technology Rosenbaur body. It carries 2, 000 litres of water and 140 litres of AFFF foam concentrate. The Rosenbaur NH30 pump has a nominal output of 2, 400 litres per minute, and can operate automatically and therefore does not require supervision.

The lockers are crammed with firefighting and rescue equipment on swing-out shelving and in low-level compartments. It carries three ladders, the main one being 10.5 metres.

However, lack of space does mean that there is insufficient room to carry the 'Otter' Lightweight Portable Pump and the Positive-Pressure Ventilation Fan at the same time. Therefore, the crew have to load either of these important pieces of kit before turning-out, as dictated by the nature of the incident that they're are responding to.

Do you get a ladder to get the ladder off? sorry it looks like a dinky toy

theres a thought, if they get a redirect do they go back to the station for the appropriate bit of kit or do they make pumps, if so whats the point ?it would be wiser to get a pump that suits not a continental one that obviously doesnt, smacks of the carp issue

look at picture 108 to see how it should be done

Dont know about picture 108 AR. Looks like it would snap if it tackled a hill - probably why its in Holland! The Welsh roads are a bit less forgiving, hence Scania.

hi, Dose look like a nice tender but reading about it from the comments sound more of a pain ach than a good fire tender, at the end of the day we need tenders what can do the job with all tools and kit on it not half a job.anyway still not bad, but you can not beat the good old looking fire engines/tenders.

looks quite nice but north wales' new MANS look like tanks

It may be an excellent truck - and certainly an expensive one. However the "decor", though not quite as messy as we are now finding in places like New Zealand, is getting perilously close!

Red, white, black, unpainted grey metal, orange and yellow in various doses, applied with checks, horizontal stripes and diagonal stripes too...

I wonder if anyone has ever actually done any proper research to see if any - or all - of these paint schemes and/or decals really enhance firefighter or public safety.

There are certainly plenty of varieties even within one country, never mind all the different versions of fire truck liveries across the water.

So its pretty clear that either no-one has found out what works best, or else told anyone else if they have...
