Second of the vans towed from the underground parking area ( see picture 10812) Land Rover YJ53 LHF towed both vans out after crews moved then into the lane.
A good action shot... of a "non-flames" call [Shout].
Not to forget, The Brave Soul, who "volunteered" (?) to dip into that awful-looking-colour water, and hook on the tow-rope. His Immersion Suit is a great idea, and so is his big grin......truly, a noble action !
Hope he was rewarded, at least, with a free "Timmy's" [over here, it means the product of the Tim Horton's Coffee chain - always very welcome at a fire-scene].
Hi Pat and Pavel. No "Timmys" or "Tinnys" I'm affraid after this job. 3 of the crew of 5 had their dry suits on for this incident, to remove 2 vans stranded in flood water in York City centre a few yards behind the van is the river which was in flood and flowing very fast due to very heavy rain. The pump that attended was the second away, which is also the designated rescue boat crew, which jumps appliances should the boat be required at an incident.
