Hi Alan is this an Albion or commer? In the late 60's to early 70's Tayside had Albion cheiftan's with carmichael bodywork. These were then replaced with Dodge K850's with HCB-Angus bodies
Grant, This is a short wheelbased Carrier/ Carmicheal/ Perkins diesel Wrt, Berkshire had four of these allocated to retained statons. This one possibly is BJB 30 B allocated to Mortimer on stndby duty. Berkshire never had Albions!
hi alan jones, its alan stockwell you will remember me you trained a small crew in 1977 at wokingham just before the 1977 strike so we could go on the run because surrey training school were not taking any courses due to the ongoing dispute. Transferred from berks 1985 to kent fire brigade resigned from the service 1988 moved to essex to start a business went retained 1990 at weeley in essex resigned december 2006 27 years in total. If it helps alan i am a bit of a shorty and on the wokingham course was amongst others was george cross graham harman and chris perfect, my subs at that time were john clare, brian treadwell, on the old group system and john ireson when we went onto watches, ken starr was my sub at station 2 who im still in contact with, an also in contact with nigel crompton, hope your keeping well alan by for now
