These contents make this look more like a HazMat truck than an ET. I wonder what they had in the rest of the lockers?

I know the North Yorkshire and South Durham County areas quite well, as I grew up there. With this at Northallerton and both a fully fledged foam pumper and a wrecker at Darlington, it seems the local brigades were well prepared for something.

Was this all connected to the probability of hazmat accidents on the A1 (M)?

Hi Rob. North Yorkshire used to have 3 of these Emergency Tenders in the County. I used to drive and operate one of these ET's which was based at Tadcaster which covered a section of the very busy A1 and covered a large part of the County attending all sorts of Incidents. They did carry out various roles. Predominantly road accidents. The front 2 lockers carried hydraulic cutters, rams and spreaders. Various air size air bags and all other types of equipment to carry out rescue. The lower section of the front lockers carried spare breathing apparatus cylinders so attended incidents where BA servicing would be needed. Long centre locker carried chemical suits and decontamination equipment including a portable shower and dam. Rear side locker contained large hydraulic rescue equipment. The rear locker contained lots of electrical generators, lighting and lighting. Hope this helps.

Thanks Paul.

It sounds rather comprehensive!
