Arrrrrrrrrggggg! isn't it against the law to "slime" anything older than 30 years??? well, it ought to be! parade trucks should be red. Now i've got to go find this truck. It isn't at the station in the photo, but an older seagrave snorkle that is still red is there. Btw, nice shootin' there 'fessor.

If the appliance(whoops sorry-apparatus)was originally red when operational,
then it should be left its original colour now its in preservation.

Professor 0421, any chance you can post some pics of the lime job, before I pass comment on this magnificent piece. I don't feel the roof beacons do it justice, two nice red rotators may look more specie in keeping with her rounded lines, , , , I reckon she was a real head turner in her day! Thanks for great pic, ,

The truck is now at Station 1 in Collegedale. Here is a link to an album I found. This guy has some good pictures. Here is the link. picasaweb.google.com/WNCFirePics/HamiltonCountyTN

Gotta agree with Pavel et al - she should be her proper fire-engine red; and with the single rotating beacons ['cherries'] on top. But, for Pavel, she still has her 'growler' on the bumper, the Mars light below the bull-dog, and the 'granny seats' behind the driver....but, lime-green paint-work !!
