Volvo LV70 fire engine from 1934, rear view

To complement picture #6052 and picture #6053, this is the rear view, photographed on 6 February 2008.
It is based on the LV70 lorry chassis, which was part of the LV68 series, built between 1931 and 1936. This series was fitted with the Volvo DC engine, the first to feature overhead valves. The vehicles weighed between 5.4 and 6.8 tons.
Engine: In-line 6 cylinder, ohv, 4097 cc (250 cu in), 75 bhp.
Transmission: 3-speed.
Wheelbase: 161 in; payload capacity approx. 6600 lbs.
A total of 1,670 LV68 series lorry chassis were built.
