Scania Turntable Ladder York Fire station

K667 BPY. 1993. Scania P93M. With a Camiva EPA 30 Turntable ladder. Bodywork by Bedwas. Photo taken outside York Fire station, where it was based when in service. This vehicle left the service under a bit of a cloud with merchanical problems.

As I understand it the jacking legs used to cause the vehicle to walk when the legs were extended and made the vehicle unstable when the ladders were fully extended. If I remember rightly this vehicle was replaced by a G reg Scania Turntable ladder from another county.

Yes your right Mark, there was a legal battle went on for some time, the vehicle was parked up in a garage at the rear of Harrogate fire station whilst this went on. North Yorkshire purchased a used TL in 2000, G429 KBO. 1990. Scania G93 ML-250 with Metz DLK 30 ladder and bodywork by Angloco. This was new to West Glamorgan county fire Service. Accuired in 2000 from Mid and West Wales Fire Brigade.I never managed to get a picture of the scania.

This appliance was a joke, off the run, more times than on!
A common fault showed fault no.82, the problem being, fault 82 did not exsist!
G429KBO a Scania/Metz ttl, was bought to replace this, look on my page to see this appliance which has just ended it's service at Scarborough fire station.

Sorry Paul. This is a G93M, not a P93M.P-Scanias has 3 steps under the door, G-Scanias has 2 steps unders the door!
