2R17A 1950 Studebaker Fire Truck Neshanic NJ

This is a picture of me with my 1950 Studebaker (2R17A) Fire Truck taken in 1980 at the Studebaker International Convention in Gettysburg, PA. Built on the 2 1/2 ton Cab forward chassis by TASC in Woodbridge NJ for the Neshanic NJ Volunteer Fire Company this truck was in their possession until the late 1970's. I was one of four individuals that purchased it from Neshanic and wound up being the last to have it in his possession. This vehicle has just been restored by its new owner in Coventry England and can be viewed at:

Along with 2R17A, the 1950 Studebaker Fire engine in the above picture is a 27 year old me, in the cowboy hat! At the time I was one of four owners nicknamed the Consortium. Marve Silverstein, one of the other owners built the toy Studebaker model displayed in front of her in the picture.
