Dennis F45 1970 Western Australia - Rear View

In answer to the query by John Draysey (Picture 4316) rear view shot of 1970 Dennis F45 heavy pumper reg no. UHZ.698 showing the flake hose lockers. This appliance served the majority of its working life at the port of Fremantle Fire Station, which was a popular and sought after posting for permanent fireman in Western Australia. Other comments raised by John are posted with the original picture.

Pavel, doesn't it look superb! You would think it could go 'on the run' today and perform as well as a modern day machine. I suppose though this was a time when 'men were men' and pulling out six inch suction over your head was nothing. No health and safety then.

Pavel,

Firstly, many thanks. Cannot deny your commitment to cause, your really have gone to a lot of trouble. But totally worth it.

What can I say. The "perfect end" to the mystery.

Regards

John

Pavel - what a fascinating combination of practices - North American Hose-Beds, British Rear Pump and Inside-Stowed Hard Suction Hoses.
I always enjoy looking at the Australian and New Zealand Apparatus, to see them use the best of both worlds.....
