This unit has the split tilt HCBA cab, which was a vast improvement on the original cab configuration on the first Gloucstershire Ford D series water tenders with HCBA bodies.
These - a number of which are illustrated on this site - had the original factory cab and a separate crew cab, with a large rubber grommet surrounding the open rear window aperture between them so as to facilitate communication!
Although fairly practical, this was not exactly an elegant solution when it came to preserving the tilting feature....
