Coventry Climax Fire Pump

Photo taken at Salts Mill complex, Saltaire, West Yorks. (A World Heritage site). Pump used by George Mallinson and Sons of Huddersfield. Mallinsons were a very large wooden and worsted mill, like Salt’s.

Oddly there was another George Mallinson and Sons in Huddersfield, a chemical works. But I think this pump would belong to the woollen mill. Other photos posted.

That’s woollen, not wooden of course.

I was a Royal Air Force fireman back in the 50s and had to swing the Coventry Climax pump to start it. I can't recall it having a battery. Can you enlighten me please.
