Rescue Pumper 57 (Wentworthville)

In 37c heat, Sydney firies were called to a factory fire in Seven Hills and on arrival found a large complex of structures alight. The response quickly escalated to end up at a 10th alarm, drawing crews from all over Sydney to assist.

Multiple large explosions were reported and several buildings suffered major collapses as the firefighting continued. Firefighters from Sydney & surrounds were responded to assist in firefighting and for crew rotation and rehabilitation due to the hot weather.

Does anyone know if this method of transporting hoses is a regular practice in Australia? I have never noticed anything like this before...

Rob ... Possibly been used at the good going working job in the description then piled on the back and tied down prior to taking it back to the station for washing and drying? Interesting that the hose looks like older canvas stuff. Is that what Australian appliances generally run with or did it perhaps come from strategic stock to supplement what was likely a large requirement for hose on the fireground?

Looks like its contaminated dirty hose. Instead of rolling it up and getting inside the lockers dirty and then having to roll it out again for cleaning, they have just stacked it and fastened it down until they return to station.
