Haslemere Fire station open day May 18, Surrey fire and rescue Service. This appliance is being trialled for about six months at Haslemere. I think they called it an initial response unit. It is crewed by the day crew but I was told not the retained crew. It is 4WD and fitted out by Rosenbauer.

Do any of our Surrey team know how this trial has turned out, if you will forgive the terminology?

All I know is one of these is still at Haslemere in late 2019, they also appear to finally have a Scania pump.

These are a very unpopular concept for obvious reasons. Staff were unwilling to engage with management about them for the most part. They seem to have fallen off the radar. Waste of time and money in my humble opinion.

Now used by the cadets I believe.

Looks like another futile attempt to save money?
