Aerials as flagstaff
100th anniversary of the Camp Albert L. Mills WWI training facility for the 42nd Infantry Division. The monument was recently refurbished for ceremonies commemorating the camp’s centennial. Current and former commanding generals, regimental commanders, staff officers and enlisted personnel attended. Camp Mills, LINY, was established in August, 1917 to train the 42nd Infantry Division for fighting in France in WWI. It’s was located on Hempstead Plain which has been populated with towns and villages such as Garden City and Mineola.
As has become a customary show of patriotism, local fire departments participate by using aerial ladders to display a very large national ensign. Here Garden City Tk4 and Mineola Tk 165 100’ rear mounts serve as the anchor points for the flag.
On Aug 12, 2017 the Vol Fire Depts sent over their 100’ RM sticks (1993 E-1 and 20016 Seagrave) to act as an A frame for the American flag.
