Is this a full UK water tender specification (1800 L tank and 2000 LPM pump) or something else?

I am guessing by the registration this is an ex Highlands and Islands pump?

Ex highlands and islands, built at the brigade workshops in around 1997/8, it was designed as a step up from the vans used and was I think a midi tender, carried just about all as per the b type water tender spec but could be driven on a car license, well ahead of its time and only recently being considered by other brigades.

Widely used in Japan and the far east, but usually without a water tank due to the low payload - hence my question. Mercedes are now marketing the Fuso with a similar specification to replace the discontinued 8 tonne GVW Vario, but I think the tank is limited to 1, 000 liters.

Just checked with Lentner. Their standard Fuso light pump has a 1, 000 LPM pump and a DIN specification 600 liter tank, but a 1, 000 liter is optional and can be accommodated within the vehicle's 7.5 tonne GVW. As an 8.5 tonne version of the chassis is available, a full 1, 800 liter tank might just be a feasible proposition!
