Commer Q4 Bikini Unit

Still in AFS livery this has just been sold, october 2016, Lincolnshire. In good condition, running and driving, missing the 9 Coventry Climax pumps and the inflatables but retaining the two side mounted winches for the 'A' frame the new owner is going to make a camper out of it!

I don't understand why someone would want to go to the effort of making a camper out of something as old as this? Certainly something that needs saving but it should be done in a more sympathetic manner

Agreed, Andy. I saw this when it came to the yard about three years ago. The cab and chassis were sound and the cab interior totally original. The woodwork would not take much work to replace and for something as original as this it should have gone to someone who will respect its history. There is a HCB Angus D Series in the same yard, it drove in and would not take much work to restore. I will try to get a photo.
