One of a series of 19 tonne GVW tankers issued by the Belgian authorities to numerous fire services.
At the time, almost every small town in Belgium had such a tanker!

On either Renault or Austrian Steyr chassis, these were intended to support pumping appliances at structure fires in response areas where hydrants were either unavailable or could not provide adequate water flows.

They carried 8, 000 liters - but were not equipped to carry much additional gear, as they were never intended to operate by themselves.

Although occasionally pressed into service at vegetation fires, they were not designed for brush firefighting, unlike many similar units in service in Germany and France.
