Angloco seem to be trying to re-enter the municipal basic fire tender market with this joint contract with Bedfordshire/Essex for pumping appliances. In recent years they have done specialist appliances like CARPS, industrial pumpers, and specials. Be interesting to see how they get on.

They are a good company. A long history now as well. We had their first Unipower Foam Tender at Yeadon in 1979. Lots of specialist machines built by them since of course and all seem sound (except for Carps but dont blame them, blame the idea) I wish them well.

As Peter says it will be interesting to see if Angloco make any inroads. There are just not enough new appliance registrations to support multiple viable coach building operations. Even the best known companies like JDC have to body vans and undertake sub-contract work to survive.
