I'm not sure on that Barrie...it was definatly at Weedon last year.albeit in an unrestored state !

Barrie has this just been scrapped as it was with the FSNMT although that does not say much.

This appliance was donated to NFSMT by Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue. If it has been scrapped then what a shame. It was a prototype F8.

This appliance was given to the trust on loan. Why havent we been made aware of it being scrapped Weedon? We could have had it back! A sad situation.

If you look at my post above...I'm sure its still there unrestored !

I was told it had been scrapped a couple of years ago...I really hope the info was incorrect but I have never seen any recent pics or heard from anyone who had seen it recently...its a rare unique machine which has got to be saved if it isnt too late.

Shame on all you rumour mongers. If like Rick Loudon, you had bothered to support the FSNMT, you would know that it was preserved, unrestored, for future prosperity. Bearing the serial number 0001 it was truly the very first of this world famous model. With the collection being moved to a new museum site at Petersfield, some harsh decisions had to be taken for survival. It is now with Barry Hutchinson where we know it will receive the attention required.
