Both LA City and LA County FDs still run 100 foot tillers exclusively, as does San Francisco. They are a lot less common elsewhere, but do turn up quite frequently in mixed aerial fleets. The most notable example is FDNY, which has loads of mid mount 75 and 95 foot towers, a large fleet of rear mount 100 foot ladders and a handful of 100 foot tillers. Chicago is only one of many cities with no tillers, with an aerial fleet of rear mount 100 foot ladders and towers.
Note the wooden extension ladders. These are all custom made in the LAFD Shops.
