My Volunteer company. 1996 Central/Internantional 1000gpm pump with a 1500 gal. tank. Seen here during a water shuttle operation for a barn fire in South Bradley County. Each county unit has a named station. The Maroon Station refers to the creek tht runs directly behind the firehall, the Maroon Branch creek.

The large locker on the right side presumably contains a folding dam, which can be used to supply pumpers at an incident, while this and other tankers leave the scene to replenish their tanks and return...

These relays or "shuttles" are standard practice in rural areas of the US which do not have easily accessible hydrants. At large fires, as many as a dozen tankers may be called out, including big 6X4 rigs with 3, 000 or 3, 500 US gallon tanks.
