FM = "Fourgon Mixte" or Multi Purpose Pumper.

These have a 2000 LPM pump, water tank, extensive assortment of ladders including hook ladders, scaling ladders, extension ladders and one 15 meter three section ladder. Class B foam, two one-man hose carts and a crew of eight.

The older ones are now being replaced gradually by Renault "FPT" water tenders with a similar specification but a much larger 2, 900 liter water tank and a class A/B CAFS installation.

This pumper usually is one of three trucks to respond to a structure fire alarm in Paris. The others are a combination light pumper and ambulance (unique to Paris) with a five man crew and an aerial truck with another two...

These - and their successors - also have a single rear mounted high pressure hose reel system and carry flaked 110 mm flat hose, which is also unloaded from the rear for hydrant access and occasional water relay purposes.

Paris has in-ground fire hydrants in the sidewalks with a 110 mm outlet as well as lower volume 65mm outlet versions in suburban areas.

Although all the pumpers, including the pump-ambulance combinations, have water tanks and hose reel systems, these are not normally relied on at structure fires. Instead, 45 mm flat hoses are usually deployed with a 150/250/350/450 LPM branch.
