New Zealand Mitsubishi Fuso

This rather unusual looking appliance is a 1989 Mitsubishi FR415 fitted with a 7000 litre tank. The unusual front axle setup is believed to be due to the vehicles original origins in Japan as a snowplough. It was imported into NZ & converted by a local engineering firm into a rural fire tanker. It is owned by the Waimakariri District Council & is based at the Waikuku Beach Rural Fire Party. (photo taken 2009).
