Oh now that does look good! Nice too see the martin horns on them

Added by Sean Griffiths on 15 August 2011.
I was told 15, but twenty sounds about right judging on fleet age, those "lego" 135 ladders still there though ?

Added by Gary Simpson on 16 August 2011.
It's actually 21 as one of the older appliances had been written off

Added by Sean Griffiths on 17 August 2011.
What fire stations got the new water ladder in north Wales?

Added by Joe Conway on 06 November 2011.
As it stands Caernarfon WrL, Ruthin WrT, Flint WrT and Mold's WrT goes on the run tonight.

Added by Andrew Middleton on 07 November 2011.
Are these appliances narrower than other vehicles of this type please, and if so is it just the body that has been reduced ?

Added by Paul Warnock on 07 November 2011.
They are narrower Paul. A complete new design concept by Volvo's, NWF&RS and Emergency-One.

Added by Andrew Middleton on 08 November 2011.

There's one of these running as wholetime crew in Rhyl

Added by Jack Harty on 13 February 2012.
Sorry Andrew, didn't look at the plate properly! Denbigh have one of these new Volvo appliances though! I'm not sure of the plate, I think its PO61 BWX

Added by Chris on 14 February 2012.
PO61BWU is at Rhyl as Wholetime appliance, PO61BRZ was also running as the retained appliance for a time. This was in workshops yard last week.

Added by Gary Simpson on 14 February 2012.
Former Wholetime Appliance DK57 CPX is now retained pump for rhyl

Added by Jason Gardener on 20 February 2012.
Sorry Jason but DK57CPX is at Deeside along with DK57CPV. Volvo FL6H.14-250/Saxon Sanbec Volumax PN02KAK has gone to Rhyl retained from Bala and the latter has recieved a new FLL260 WrT.

Added by Jason Gardner on 05 March 2012.
i have seen a fair few of thses now im sure most of the rds station have these ... holywell was running one of these on blues yesterday nice meaty engine

Added by James Smallman on 03 December 2014.
whats the difference as its been a long term mission creep of excess weight on appliances over the last few years , I see its body is shorter by a small amount and very very slighly narrower yet the mirrors are not , I assume its a few kilos lighter but a better bet would have been a fleet of 12 ton MAN appliances like grampian have or the isuzu which is even lighter , full size appliance carry gear some of which is never used and the 135 ladder is hardly ever used in real situations and having one appliance fitted with it every other station would suffice , time to serious about slimming them down and reducing the carbon footprint at the same time

Added by Donny Maclean on 09 December 2014.
They do have a 135 ladder every other appliance

Ive seen 3 new volvos issued in NWFRS two 15 plates to wrexham and a 64plate to colwyn bay.

Added by Nick Robertson on 22 June 2015.

Does anyone know what Holywell have

Added by Joe on 10 November 2015.
They have one of these only about 8 months old

Added by Steven Hughes on 11 November 2015.
I believe they're continually adding these volvos to the fleet slowly phasing out the 2002-2005 volvos to reserve fleet

They just need to replace the ETs like south Wales has done

Added by Steven Hughes on 15 November 2015.
How will Prestatyn fit one off these into there station coz there bay is quite small

Added by Joe on 18 December 2015.
Ah Prestatyn love that station spent a lot of time there... Well if betws y coed and cerrigydrudion or Buckley can fit on in there is no problems

Added by Steven Hughes on 28 December 2015.
Steve I know someone based at prestaty fires station.

Added by Joe on 08 January 2016.
Prestatyn was built to same design style as Buckley and St Asaph by Flintshire, so it will fit. There is a Merc Atego on spare at moment (DK57CRX) was running as spare at Wrexham.

Added by Gary Simpson on 12 January 2016.
Llandudno is now running a 65 reg Volvo as if last week the MAN has gone to the RDS crew.

Added by Steven Hughes on 12 January 2016.
What' stations have these pumps

Added by Joe on 08 December 2018.
