Kingston Upon Hull Volunteer Station

Kingston Upon Hull Volunteer fire station, Hall street off Spring Bank, Hull. This building was erected as a station for the Volunteer fire Brigade. Formed in 1887 to assist the regular brigade. The carved heads are said to be of the Captains of the time. The volunteers disbanded in 1891.

There are older fire stations still in daily use in some US cities, several of them in New York!
