Ex Hampshire Volvo SI77 KPO

I was over in Ireland last week and spotted this ex Hampshire appliance on the old N8 near Mitchelstown in Co Cork - it was bound for the Midleton Distillery apparently !

Has this been re-registered? I can't find any trace of it on the HFRS Fleet List (which would probably not have been updated yet).

This 1998 Volvo FL6-14/Saxon Sanbec WrT(reg-S177KPO)was I believe originally new to C54 St Mary's, Southampton and used as the 2nd pump(Water Tender)away.

What do you mean re registered ? - in the UK ?(its plate is clearly visible)or in Ireland ? its running on UK trade plates and had only come off the ferry in Dublin that morning - as it was going to a private company its even possible it might not get an Irish registration if it is to be used purely within the confines of the companys premises !

Pete I don't think this was St Marys retained WrT. Their retained crew is relatively new and their first retained pump, I think came from Redbridge when their WrT was replaced by an FRV.

It served at Sutton Scotney as there WrT for many of years.

This did run as a WrT from St Marys when new, alongside P952JTR (WrL) and G163UPO (SEU). All three being moved out for the rebuilding of St Marys. S177UPO was the only one to return to the "new" St Marys. On return it continued as WrT alongside HX51NRV (WrL)and X137FOR (SEU). It was displaced at D54 by HV52XOB in 2002, then moving to A35 Sutton Scotney, hope this helps.

I think that G163 UPO was Basingstoke's SEU and not at St Marys.

David, the 1990 Volvo FL6.14/HFB SEU(reg-G163UPO)was allocated to St Mary's.The one that was allocated to Basingstoke was from 1989 and was registered G162UPO.

Was at St Marys on closure of original station prior to rebuilding, was on the last "ceramonial" turnout prior to D54 moving to temp station at Northam.

Pete,
Fleet Data claims that G162 went to Training in 1990 and G163 went to 'A' Division (either Basingstoke or Winchester) also in 1990?
