Scania Platform - Geelong City

The Geelong City Fire Brigade Scania platform attending a fire alarm at Geelong Hospital in January 2011. This is a recent addition to the Geelong brigade as it recently replaced a platform on an International chasis.

I think this is the ALP that was repaired after overturning when almost brand-new.

David, (& Andy Daley). A terrific series of photographs of CFA trucks. The Scania is 1 of 3 appliances recently purchased by the CFA. The ones for Geelong City & Dandenong went on the run 31/8/2010 & replaced 2 identical 1987 International/Simon Snorkel SS300, 31M HP. The new A.L.P. are all Scania P380/Varley/Bronto Skylift F42-RL, ALP's 42M. These are similar to the 1 in Canberra, ACT Fire Brigade. The Dandenong Reg.No MBD393, Geelong City Reg.No MBD394. Your picture is MBD391, I presume is the 1 for Traralgon in Gippsland. This is on loan to Geelong as both Dandenong & Geelong's developed cracks in the chassis welds and have been withdrawn for an indefinite time. Dandenong is using a 1993 Scania 113H-360 8x4 Bronto F37 ALP (Spare) from the Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB).
Andy's query: The 1 that rolled was Ballarat's, 2003 Reg.No MBM589 on 20/12/2005 & was rebuilt. It is now back in service. A sister to it is Bendigo's Reg.No MBN702, both F37's. Hope this is of some help to you both.

Graham, just a slight correction. The MFB one at Dandenong should be a 1996-7 model 113H-360 (not 1993) and was not a spare. It's Eastern Hill's usual one, however instead of giving the CFA one of the two spare ones, they gave them the last of the 3 113H-360s currently in the fleet.
