Tractor Paul, This is indeed an ex Hereford and Worcester Fire Brigade machine. I know this as I did my recruits training on this machine! We used three R series, this one and 433 and 434T. They were lovely machines and I spent many hours polishing those lockers!! Nice to see its still around but very sad for me to see it in this condition.

These were lovely appliances. We had 11 in total in Clwyd, 8 with Rolls Royce engines and 3 with the perkins. Found one a couple of years ago on the Wirral, not seen since, believed to have gone to Holland sadly.

Can anyone tell me is this fire engine for sale

Added by Peter gornall on 03 January 2011.
Yes, indeed, an ex-Hereford & Worcester R133 which was one of a batch of six.

So far as Clwyd is concerned, only RJC 916-918T were R133 jobs, their other eight were the R61 version.

Not sure 100% but think our (Clwyd) Perkins diesels were R130. They were quick round town and on take up but never sounded as good as a petrol Rolls Royce, didnt backfire either! 2 of the RJC-T batch are supposedly exported, shame really R types WERE the best in Clwyd (personal view!).

Does anyone know what manual gearbox was used when they had the Rolls Royce engines fitted?

Added by Martin on 25 August 2011.
The Clwyd R's were R133's Gary.

Think H&W were Perkins with Allison Autobox. Have also been told that Clwyd RJC918T has been scrapped in Holland for its roller shutter doors, any further info would be appreciated.

KNP 437T ran when brand new, (and for some time after) as the Water Ladder, call sign 4-1-1 running from Malvern fire station H&WFB, stn.41.
She was one of a batch of six, as Ian rightly say's.They were; KNP 433T-Hereford WrL, KNP 434T- Droitwich Spa WrL2. KNP 435T-WrL Worcester. KNP436T- Droitwich Spa WrL1. and KNP438T- WrL Evesham. We have pics of all, except 433T, although we do have 90 seconds of it on 8mm on drill!! in 1986.

Possibly 2 years too late but does anybody know whether this vehicle is still in one piece? I would really like to put an offer in to try and get her back to her former glory!

Hi it was still at the same location in Jan 2013 but had moved around the yard

Thanks for getting back to me. Is there any chance you could contact me to discuss the location. My wifes grandfather rode this appliance back in the 70's and 80's and this would be a great potentially be a great project for us.
