ATC Wildland Ultra XT single cab engine
American Truck Company built 6 wildland AWD engines on Tatra chassis in 2003 for the US Bureau of Land Management; 3 were single cab pumpers like this, and 3 were crew cab trucks. Each carries 2400 gallons of water and a full complement of brush fire equipment for use on wild lands of the western US. These engines can climb 100% slope (45 degrees) and drive up to 40 mph on dirt or gravel roads. Photo taken in 2005 in Boise, Idaho, of an engine assigned to Vale, Oregon BLM.
