This F8 is currently off the road and needing a complete engine rebuild. I have access to all the parts required except a new camshaft which i cannot find anywhere. any information as to the location of one would be most welcome.

I forgot to add, the part number for the camshaft i am looking for is "RE 12402"

I am a forces postal history collector my interest is Ceylon WWII and post war. Have quite a lot of material relating to RN Trincomalee and have just purchased a photo of your engine. Do you have a details of its history as I would like to write up the picture for a forthcoming talk. Thanks Steve

This would be one of two F8 jobs that were issued to Trincomalee at the time, there being 42 RN & 42 RN 81. Chassis Nos. 4162 & 4164 respectively, they were supplied under Works Production Order 40940.
Shown as completed in October 1955, both had 300 gallon tanks, and they were ordered by the MoW.
