Seen at Earl Street fire station Flint in 1954.The photo shows her carrying a 35ft Ajax ladder just before being converted to carry an escape ladder.BDM 308 moved to the new Station on Chester Rd in 1960.
I think Andrews’s comments under Dave Price Photo No 24871 on the date that BDM 308 moved in 1956 From Hawarden is wrong as this Photo at Earl Street was dated 1954.

BDM 308 was transferred to Flint in 1953 from Connahs Quay where it had probably been since 1946 when that station was built by the NFS.

Wonderful photo Herbie. Re-read what I put on David Price's photo and amended it. Goes to show you can't always trust where you come about information. JDM 711 Commer QX/Carmichael PE went to A1 Rhyl and not B1 Connah's Quay originally and replaced HDM 674 which went to B2 Hawarden in 1954 to replace the above at B4 Flint. Had a long chat with George Price, former OIC at B2 Hawarden some years ago who informed me that HDM 764 was allocated to B2 from A1 but couldn't remember what year. HDM 765 Commer QX/HCB WrT was allocated to A3 St Asaph and later to Deeside in 1965 to replace the former B5 Mold UDCFB Dennis Light 4 CDM 317 which was converted into a Foam Tender. HDM 765 was also converted in 1965 to a FoT with Pyrene RTTP added. HDM 765 was replaced in 1972 by JDM529K Dennis F48/Dennis at B1 Deeside. I believe if you can confirm this, but JDM 711 was allegedly written off whilst at B1 Deeside in 1971 by a bus in Oakenholt whilst on a shout to the Star Supermarket in Holywell?

Yes Andy I was part time at Flint and missed the first pump sent to the incident at Holywell. I turned out with the standby crew too Oakenholt , ( I think Ben Dudley was the driver of B1’s appliance. ) Got redirected from there to the incident at Holywell.

Yes it was. I believe Hawker Sidley of Hawarden/British Aero Space as it was known bought it... Over the years they use to hire it for maintenance purposes. I have lost track of her after that. Hope she still survives.

She went and still is at the Merseyside Fire Museum in Crosby. Both Dusty and I photographed her earlier this year in Crosby. Saw her last year at Heswall in red livery and is now in NFS Gray.

I talked to the department that had it last in service and all they could tell me it was a nice old engine. the needed more room so got a new one.

The last fire Department to have it was Pierce County #16 in lakebay Wa. It's in Gig Harbor somewhere if anyone knows where that is. :)
