Here is the other Ford D of the Hastings Borough.New in 72 it was stationed at Halton in Hastings and ran as the wholetime pump. It was taken out of front line service in 1977 when it was replaced by a Bedford TK when the near station on The Ridge was opened spending the last days of its career as a driver training pump seen in the yard at Eastbourne. It is almost the same as the Eastbourne pump ladder seen also on this site but the Hastings pump has an extra window either side of the crew cab.
I remember this pump being left to rot at the end of the drill ground Maresfield covered in bushes during the Brigade annual drill competitions.

Did The Ridge fire station replace Halton fire station?

Shaun:

Do you know who built the body? It looks like a Carmichael and there is a badge on the front, but I can't make it out.

I used to work in Ford Trucks and sold some of the earlier D series fire engines, but I had left to work for Volvo when this one was manufactured.
