Can anyone tell me which fire station was on Albion Street? Looks neat on streetview.

Andy, West Mids have just had a large batch of Volvo FLLs built/delivered by JDC, think there are about 10 of them.

Stuart, Fozaib, Wonderful. Off next weekend and I'm making a few days of it. Getting the last of the Sabres in H&W and then West Mids. Anyone seen Cradley Heath's new Sabre outside the station on Streetview?

Added by Andy Middleton on 12 May 2010.
The sabre is nearly 3 years old and yea i've seen it back in 2008 when out filming the turn outs.

The fire station in Albion Street was in fact called ALBION STYREET and was Station 11 in the old 'Birmingham Fire and Ambulance Service' days

Does any one know what the classification SFD 322 means , XL is extra length cab but not sure what the SFD 322 indicates , many thanks

As with any vehicle manufacturer, Dennis has it's own World Manufacturers Identity, which is SFD.

S= Signifies World location (UK)
F= Signifies Company Division (Fire)
D= Signifies Company ID (Dennis)

Here is a Made up vin number:SFD322L531GS41234

SFD - World Manufacturers Identity
3 - Wheelbase
2 - Engine
2 - Transmission
L - PTO Type/Ratio
5 - Axle Type/Ratio
3 - Mark/Series
1 - Build Year
G - Build Plant
S - Model
4 - Cab Type
1234- Serial Number

Hope this helps

Simon thats very interesting many thanks, so what engine and transmission would be represented by the 322 suffix , I have seen some Sabres classed as 222/343 for example ? Dennis were pretty good at explaining the old class numbers with the F/R/RS/SS series , but the classifications are not as well known when it comes to the later examples ...Sabre and Rapier , thanks again.
